About Somnium Digital

A full-service digital growth and technology agency bringing branding, marketing, creative production, custom software, AI automation and infrastructure under one roof.

What we are

Somnium Digital is a full-service digital growth and technology agency that brings together branding, marketing, creative production, custom software, AI automation and IT infrastructure — all under one roof.

That combination is unusual and it is the point. Most agencies are a marketing company that outsources technology or a technology company that outsources marketing, and the seam between them is where a great deal of value is lost. A campaign designed without knowing what the system can capture, and a system built without knowing what the campaign needs, both underperform for reasons neither supplier can see.

The practical consequence is that we can be accountable for the number that matters rather than for a channel metric. When the same people build the tracking, the landing page, the CRM integration and the campaign, there is nobody to point at when the pipeline does not move.

How we work

Fixed price against defined scope
Quoted per phase after a discovery call, with an explicit list of what is excluded. We do not bill open-ended hours and we do not charge a percentage of media spend.
You own everything
Repositories, accounts, source files, domains and documentation, in your name. We use conventional technology specifically so that replacing us is an inconvenience rather than a rebuild.
Measured, not asserted
Where we claim something improved, there is a baseline captured beforehand and a figure you can check. Where no baseline exists we say the result is unmeasured rather than estimating one.
Phases you can stop after
Longer engagements are structured so you can stop at the end of any phase having received value. This occasionally costs us revenue and it is deliberate.
Remote, with travel where it matters
We work remotely as standard and travel for discovery workshops, process audits and first meetings in markets where the relationship genuinely benefits.
We say when not to buy
The most common outcome of a discovery call is a recommendation to do something smaller, something different, or nothing at all.

What we will not do

We will not invent social proof. No fabricated testimonials, invented client names, made-up review counts or statistics without a dated source. Where we publish a client outcome it will be named, dated and with that client’s permission.

We will not fill a structured data field with a plausible-looking value to satisfy a validator. If a schema type requires a price we do not have, the node is removed rather than fabricated.

We will not build the doorway-page pattern — the full cross-product of every service against every location — because it carries manual-action risk and produces nothing a reader values, regardless of how many pages it generates.

We will not scrape platforms whose terms prohibit it, mail purchased lists, or build outbound programmes that ignore the consent regime of the market they target. These requests come up, and declining them is not a negotiating position.

Where we work

Across the European Union, the Nordic countries, the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates — thirty-two countries with individual pages covering what actually differs in each, plus ten cities where demand concentrates.

We work remotely in the same time zone as our European and Gulf clients and on afternoon overlap with North America. Where an engagement needs constant same-hours contact with a West Coast team, we say so rather than taking the work and under-serving it.

Why the range is this wide

A reasonable objection to an agency offering twenty-two services is that nobody is good at twenty-two things. It is a fair challenge and the answer is that these are not twenty-two unrelated capabilities; they are two adjacent practices that most agencies keep separate to their clients' cost.

One is brand, marketing and creative production. The other is software, data, automation and infrastructure. Businesses experience these as one problem — the campaign needs a landing page that writes into a CRM that feeds a dashboard someone actually reads — and buy them as three contracts from suppliers who each blame the others when the pipeline does not move.

What we will not claim is uniform depth. Some of these are areas where we would back ourselves against anyone; others are competent and well-executed rather than exceptional. Where an engagement needs capability at the edge of what we do well, we say so and either commission it or recommend someone else. A supplier who claims equal excellence across every discipline is describing a brochure.

How we price and why we do not publish rates

Every engagement is quoted as a fixed price per phase against a written scope with an explicit list of exclusions. We do not bill open-ended hours, we do not charge a percentage of media spend, and we do not mark up software licences or infrastructure — those are paid by you directly to the vendors.

We do not publish a rate card because the range between the smallest and largest version of most of these services is an order of magnitude. A landing page and a multi-system integration are both "website work"; quoting a single number across that range would be a marketing device rather than information.

Longer engagements are structured in phases you can stop after. This occasionally costs us revenue — clients do stop after two phases having got what they needed — and it is deliberate, because the alternative is a relationship where leaving is expensive enough to keep someone in it past the point of value.

What we measure and what we will not claim

Where we say something improved, there is a baseline captured before the work started and a figure you can check. Where no baseline was captured we say the result is unmeasured rather than producing a retrospective estimate, because an estimate of how long something used to take is not evidence.

Estimates are labelled as estimates every time they appear, including on this site. Any figure describing a typical range is a planning estimate with its assumptions stated, and it is never presented as a client outcome.

We will not attribute revenue to work that cannot support the attribution. Brand consistency, reporting quality and knowledge systems all produce real value and none of them yields a defensible revenue figure. An agency that hands you one has produced it by choosing a model that flatters the invoice.

The two questions people ask first

The first is whether a small team can genuinely cover this range. The honest answer is that it covers two adjacent practices rather than twenty-two unrelated ones, that we commission native-language writing and specialist photography, and that we say so when an engagement needs capability at the edge of what we do well. A supplier claiming uniform excellence across every discipline is describing a brochure.

The second is why there are no client logos on this site. Because publishing a client relationship requires their permission, and publishing an outcome requires permission, a date and a figure that can be checked. We would rather have an empty section than a wall of logos we cannot substantiate, and the same principle is why there are no invented testimonials or review counts anywhere here.

Both answers cost us work occasionally. Prospective clients do use logo walls and case study counts as a filter, and a site without them looks thinner than one with fabricated versions. We think the trade is worth making, and it is the same judgement that produces the rest of how we operate.

The name

Somnium is Latin for dream. The typography across this site is Cinzel, which is cut from the inscriptional capitals on Trajan's Column in Rome — the letterforms that most Western serif type eventually descends from.

The reference is carried by proportion and lettering rather than by ornament: a rule under a heading where an inscription would be ruled before it was cut, Roman numerals where a sequence needs marking, and otherwise white space and a measured column. That restraint is roughly how we would like the work itself to read.

The homepage keeps a WebGL garden — a scroll-driven walk through a peristyle — because it is the one place where the reference earns a moment of its own. Every other page on this site loads none of that: static HTML, one stylesheet, and a small script for the menu.

Questions

How big is the team?

Small and deliberately so. We commission native-language writing, translation and specialist photography, and we deliver engineering, data, automation and strategy ourselves. We will tell you which parts of an engagement are commissioned rather than implying otherwise.

Do you have case studies?

Where a client has given permission, and named and dated. We do not publish anonymised outcomes, because an unverifiable claim is not evidence and we would rather have fewer of them.

What do you charge?

Fixed prices per phase against a defined scope, quoted after a discovery call. We do not publish a rate card because the range between the smallest and largest version of most engagements is an order of magnitude.

What happens if we want to leave?

You take everything with you. Accounts, repositories, source files and documentation are yours throughout, and we do not hold client assets in agency accounts.

Will you work with our existing suppliers?

Frequently, and it works well provided everyone reports into the same measurement model. We are often the party that sets the standard several suppliers then work to.

How quickly can you start?

It depends on current capacity and we will tell you honestly. Accepting work we cannot begin when it is needed serves nobody.

Why the Roman references?

The name means dream in Latin, and the typography is Cinzel, which is cut from the inscriptional capitals on Trajan’s Column. It is a reference carried by proportion and lettering rather than by ornament, which is roughly how we would like the work to read as well.

Where are you based?

Central Europe, working remotely across the EU, the Nordics, North America and the Gulf. We travel for discovery workshops, on-site process audits and first meetings in markets where the business culture genuinely benefits from one. We do not claim offices we do not have, which is a common and easily checked exaggeration in this industry.

Do you take equity or revenue share instead of fees?

No. It aligns incentives in theory and in practice it makes us a stakeholder in decisions we should be advising on impartially. Fixed fees against defined scope keep the advice honest, including when the advice is to spend less.

What is the smallest engagement you take?

Small enough that a first project can genuinely be a test of whether we work well together. What we will not do is accept work at a scale or on a timeline where we cannot do it properly, and we would rather say that than take the revenue.

Why is there so much detail on this site?

Because the alternative is a page of adjectives. A supplier's website is one of the few pieces of evidence available before you talk to them, and pages that describe how work actually runs — including where it fails — are more useful than pages that describe how good everyone is. It also means you can disagree with us before spending money rather than after.

What does a typical first project look like?

Small and defined. An audit, a diagnosis, one integration, a single landing page test programme. It produces something useful on its own, it establishes whether we work well together, and it costs a fraction of committing to a long engagement with a supplier you have not worked with before. Most of our longer relationships started that way.

Talk to us

Describe the problem rather than the service. We will tell you what we would do about it, and whether it is worth doing.

Tell us what you are trying to change

Describe the problem rather than the service — the two frequently differ, and working out which is which is the useful part of a first conversation. We reply within one working day, and if it is outside what we do well you will hear that in the reply rather than after a call.

We use what you send to reply to you. Nothing else, and no list.
